And the judge telling him to wrap it up!

Good. Real consequences are exactly what is needed for the people behind that event.

Except that's not what's happening. Some low-level flunkies are getting thrown under the bus. This guy happens to be a slightly-less-low-level flunky.

None of the people actually responsible have received so much as glance in the direction of their wrist, much less a slap.
