So if prices are rising faster than costs, where is the money coming from to pay those prices? Loans? Savings accounts?

1) Excess savings built up during COVID (part stimulus money, part reduced spending on travel, etc.)

2) "Hot" economy with low unemployment

Debt. Since wages are generally lagging increases in costs, people are putting more on credit.
