Ask HN: What are the most valuable things you got out of college education?

System programming, 3 years finished. Got nothing except maybe free time which was needed for discover Bitcoin. Also I got laid for a first time. I have met zero interesting people nor good teachers.

You get jobs that you wouldn't have gotten had you not had a college degree. (You can't ever know what would've happened without the degree -- but over the years there's times were you do indeed get the job instead of being passed over, because of the degree...)

Discipline, meeting new people with new ideas, new ways at looking at the world.
