I think young guys and boys are just so sick of the monoculture pushed on them by both traditional media and social media, that demonizes standard masculinity (think of that infamous Gilette ad), that some of them ended up embracing a caricature/shock jockey. Because he pisses off the modern day equivalent of evangelists, he's edgy and transgressive. Also he says he admits he's playing up/being comedic, which makes people OK with his more exaggerated quotes.
It helps that he looks the part too, being a former UFC fighter. Looks matter a lot. No one would know his name if he looked like your typical software developer.
Try it with anything. Tell black people they are worthless and watch as someone like Malcom X, who tells them to stick it to the white man rises in popularity.
Also, as a former kickboxer, he has cred. Similarly, Joe Rogan has some cred for having competed, which opened the door to his MMA commentary career, which gave him more cred.
