When I’m feeling adventurous, I just pick a year or decade and start listening to the most hi hi my rated albums I haven’t heard yet.

These days, I read a lot of music biographies, and that tends to lead me down interesting paths. Read about Bowie, you’ll learn about Mick Ronson, the Stooges, etc. Read about the Talking Heads, you’ll learn about Fela Kuti. Read about the Beastie Boys, you’ll learn about.. well almost everything.
I’ve recently switched to Qobuz which is more editorial and less algorithmic. Overall very happy with their recs.
