Musk says George Soros ‘hates humanity,’ compares him to Jewish supervillain

FTA: "he made his comments three days after Soros’s investment fund reported that it had sold all its stock in Tesla"

I really, really dislike Musk.

> Musk, who has gutted Twitter’s media relations department, could not immediately be reached for a response.

WaPo, as a respectable broadsheet newspaper, delicately avoids mentioning that they got a poop emoji in response to their enquiries.

Musk-watching has become a bit like Trump-watching.

"Surely this, finally, is the thing that will make his weird fans give up on him", about once a week.

The secret appears to be that there is no level of arseholeishness, abhorrence, or just plain stupidity which will cause the faithful to forsake Dear Leader.

That is... Suboptimal.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk attacked George Soros on Twitter Monday evening, days after Soros’s investment firm disclosed it had sold off its entire holdings of Tesla stock, in remarks that closely mirror right-wing conspiracy talking points about the billionaire.

Yes the Jew! Are we back in 1930s? Is Musk going to lead American National Socialist party to get some living space in Canada, whilst building concentration camps for undesirables to cleanse USA of woke-humans?

Soros dumps Tesla stock. Musk responds, "Soros hates humanity."

Elon Musk just seems awesomer and awesomer. A spectacle.

His work at Tesla and Space-X showed vision, persistence, focus, insights, … and now this?

EDIT: The downvoters might do well to keep in mind that "awesome" does not mean "admirable". "Spectacle" also does not.

Yea I agree. He seems like a literal different person since the Twitter takeover. That, or he's always been like this but done a good job of hiding it.

Maybe he's just done too many 16-hour days in a row.

I don't personally agree with the direction of his work. Like, Mars? Why really? But the world would be a better place with more CEOs with longterm vision and persistence, and fewer twittertwits.

This seems like more than a bit of a stretch to me. I don't really think of Magneto as a "Jewish supervillain". In fact I highly doubt almost anybody knew Magneto was Jewish. This attempt to paint this as an anti-Semitic attack seems totally unfair to me.

Moreover, Soros is a guy from another country who pours money into the USA to get leftist DAs elected who don't prosecute crimes. Krasner, Boudin, Gascon, etc. He has openly admitted to this. I have an ENORMOUS amount of criticism of this that has literally NOTHING to do with Mr. Soros' religion, or background, or anything. Hiding behind this wall of "any criticism of me is racist" is a serious bullshit move IMO.

I have no skin in this game...but Elon most definitely knows that Magneto is Jewish when making that comparison. Whether or not other people are aware of it is irrelevant.

I mean is that a guarantee though? If I was looking for a random OLD supervillain to compare to Soros I'd probably go with Magneto or Saruman as well! How do we know Musk wasn't just picking some old man supervillain?

In general I'd like to try to believe people aren't just blatantly racist.

Does it not feel weird to go so far afield to find an alternate explanation when the obvious one fits his other actions, statements, and recent political affiliations?

Are you going to notice when you cross over from "giving someone the benefit of the doubt" to "making excuses for racists?" Is it possible you already have?

I really don't feel like I'm going "far afield" here. When I think "Magneto" the first things that come to mind are "X-men" and "old" and "wheelchair". AFAIK I literally have never seen any info saying he is Jewish until today. And according to the commenter below this detail of Magento was invented in 2008, well after many of the movies were made.

He's Jewish, and a Holocaust survivor. It's central to the character's backstory from nearly the beginning. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magneto_(Marvel_Comics)

And it's in the opening scene of the first X-Men movie (2000). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dI7SEIKaKwE

And is a recurring theme in others. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XY2eW2cXcNg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eu8g3Z2Hles

OK, I stand corrected. Thank you. I clearly don't know what I'm talking about. I'm not really an X-man fan.

Did you learn anything about going to bat for racists?

Anybody who is extremely on Twitter (Musk) or interested in American politics (Musk) can't help but be aware that invoking Soros is an anti-Semitic trope going back decades.

Apparently, that backstory was invented in 2008, 45 years after his debut (1963).

The survivor-of-Auschwitz part is from the 80s, they just didn't make him explicitly Jewish back then.

Yeah I mean it's pretty obvious that WaPo political operatives just dug this unknown detail up in an attempt to smear Musk as an anti-Semite, because that's easier than actually trying to argue with his claims via fact and reason.

Musk was literally told about Magneto [1] and he decided to double down on it on a reply. Dunno how much more explicit Musk needs to make it.

It's pretty clear from the movies that Magneto was a Holocaust survivor. I'm pretty confident that Musk knows this, and was clearly peeved that Soros had recently sold his T$LA holdings. The man's pettiness knows no bounds.

Soros is a holocaust survivor, everything he does that you label as leftist is to avoid a repetition of that horror. Musk has shown his true colors many times before, this is just more of the same and confirming how despicable a person he is.
