Tell HN: Google App on Android is draining batteries within hours

Both myself and my partner have different Pixel phones on different phone networks, yet in the last few days we've both struggled to keep our phone charged and within 1-2 hours of being off a charger the battery empties to the point that the phone shuts down.

The cause of this according to Battery Usage is the Google App which used more than half of all battery in the last few days.

This cannot be uninstalled, but what I've done is force stop it, disable it, and installed Nova Launcher and replaced the Google Home launcher — because disabling the Google app kills the At A Glance, the Search Bar, and various other Google things, yet changing the launcher just means you open that in the web browser and it works fine.

If you're experiencing significant battery drain, swap the launcher, disable the Google App. Our batteries are both back to about 26-30h each, in the past few days it's been about 2h if not constantly charging.
