Ask HN: How to secure a job on J2 visa for my spouse?

Hello, I shall be starting graduate school this Fall in Michigan as a Fulbright scholar. My spouse shall be accompanying me on a J2 visa. As my spouse is a senior executive at a electricity utility company in one of the largest cities in the world, they intend to find an identical job in the area around Detroit in Michigan.

My spouse is leading three teams comprising 30 people related to Advanced Metering Infrastructure. In addition, they have a graduate degree in engineering from Imperial College.

What we have done?

1. Contacted friends and family working in US for help.

2. I have also asked the spouse to get LinkedIn Premium Membership and directly contact hiring managers and technical managers.
