Elon Musk Names Linda Yaccarino New Twitter CEO

I am sure there are lots of comments across the internet about this appointment, good bad and ugly. I hope none of it is personally derogatory towards her.

but my first thought was that this is just boring business as usual - someone takes over as a CEO at a company - two paragraphs in the business pages if you are lucky and the editor owes your PR guy a favour.

Software has eaten so much of the world, it is becoming ... boring.

Good.

I had not heard of her before but Linda Yaccarino is evidently highly regarded and her position seems pretty lofty compared to cleaning up Elon's schmutz and selling ads while he amplifies racists, Nazis, and just about every other species of bigot.

I guess some people don't see the glass cliff coming. Or Elon didn't read her employment contract before signing, as unthinkable as that might seem.
