Ask HN: Why does favoriting a post takes me to list of my favorite posts?

I would expect (and want) that favoriting a post just marks that post as my favorite and let me read the discussions. However, I end up visiting list of my favorite posts and then I need to come back to that post again. Am I doing something wrong? Feels counterintuitive.
