The Disappearing Computer: Preview of Humane’s Screenless Tech (2023)

This really seems like a huge Solution in Search of a Problem. The problems he mentions are:

1. you have to fumble with your phone to look something up

2. you sometimes bump into other people on the street looking at your phone

3. screens are bad

Are those really big problems? Are they big enough that I need to learn how to interact with an entirely new interface? It's obviously incredible technology, but I just don't see people walking around with these things and talking to them.

So I guess this is a standalone device tethered to your phone? Interesting idea. Not sure I want to add a little pocket to all my shirts. Seems more likely that these features are built into phones or even just an app you can download.

He mentions in the video that it's not tethered; simply standalone. Not sure how that works as far as the phone call demo though...

You can insert a sim, connect to wifi etc

I'm fascinated by this because it seems so silly. Also really doesn't seem very real. Also it seems really hard to use. Also AirPods do all of this.
