What reserves? The article is about parents who don't have reserves because they're already drowning in debt.
Sounds like what someone who thinks it's still possible to save enough money for college by stashing part of their allowance and working part-time jobs in high school would say.
The military will not only pay for college but also advanced degrees. Even payback prior school debt. End of the day I as a parent or a taxpayer don't owe anyone a college education. Nobody paid for mine and I turned out exceptional through get this....the work ethics I learned in the USMC. How about that!
Not everyone can or wants to join the military. It's not something that should be a prerequisite for higher education.
no one said that was the ONLY way. Just like college isn't for everyone, nor should everyone expect to go.
But i do think it would be a better country with forced service between highschool and potential higher education.
This isn't Starship Troopers.
The child can join any branch of the military reserves to pay for college to include the Coast Guard.
