Everyone Is Lying About Texting and Driving

I second this from a German road observation. The times I see people behind me looking down on their phones is sparingly high.

The issue is that these people believe they can text and drive while in reality you nearly always see how they need to correct course in between views. I wouldn't bother if they would only be dangerous to themselves. Imho this is a problem which can only be solved by making it socially not accepted.

I avoid riding with anyone nowadays because I'm afraid they will either get or make a phone call while driving. As a passenger, I'm not in a strong position to say "Hey, you know it's not safe to drive and use the phone, and I'm not comfortable with you doing while I'm in the car."
