The belief of lottery players going broke is a way to rationalize the seeming unfairness of sudden and unearned wealth. It's similar to the belief that child prodigies burn out as adults.

You think most people think winning the lottery is unfair?

I mean, assuming it isn't rigged? Is it more or less unfair than inheriting wealth?

And what is a child prodigy?

Someone who makes the news for an extreme IQ score, learning to read early, or going to college before they're 18?

Or someone who creates art, publishes a scientific paper, or writes a novel like someone much older?

Going to college before 18? I was surprised to learn most people graduate high school in the U.S. at 18. Its usually 16 to 17 where I am from. They then go onto University or Community College.

In what country do people graduate from US high schools at 16?
