Ask HN: Help me name my 'startup'?

RIPmyName.com Can you guess what service I am planning on providing.

I promise it has noting to do with hitmen.

Is there any subreddit for these kinds of domain name speculation.

I am already hoarding 6 domain names, I wonder how many you are hoarding?

Lets assume person xyz is called 'patio11' on the internet.

xyz is famous and has a verified birth certificate named 'patio11'

You launch a billion dollar new social network called _Mastadoni

You know that internet famous people can bring in their followers.

So, you want to reserve the name patio11 @ _Mastadoni

Can RIPmyName help _Mastadoni identify such hoardable names which need to be reserved until the real patio11 shows up?

The 'crypto coin twitter alternative' tried a similar reservation on their site for top Twitterati. (I dont recall the name of that service right now, let me ask chatgpt)

I want to provide such a service to other social networks that are gonna launch.

I have thought of another name for my service:- RIPunderscores.com

Its BitClout https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BitClout#:~:text=At%20launch%2...

https://smartynames.com/

Thank you robocat _/\_ This service is really awesome. I had become disappointed with domainwheel.com and was on the lookout for something like this.

Selling domain names as a squatter? Uh yeah, how about isuck LLC

It has something to do with solving the squatting problem. It has nothing to do with domain hoarding though.

I have posted another comment describing my idea v0.1

Oh, i like the idea, i think you need cooperation from networks, who would want a cut of proceeds. nameshift, nameblaze, name&board, cognomen (latin for last name), nameholdr, namekeepr, handleholder (like candleholder but with an h), reservaname, keepaname, ownaname, veritithe (verity + tithing), snapnickname, nicksnatch, namegame, namelane. Nameholdr keeps coming back to mind as I conjure more from the depths.

Digital Deadmans switch?

Oops, I think the RIP thing carries a connotation that no service wants to associate itself with...Hmmm
