Chegg Stock Cut in Half After Warning ChatGPT Is Hurting Growth

Funny seeing this after I cancelled my Chegg subscription earlier today because GPT-4 is a substantial alternative. Chegg costs $17 a month, ChatGPT+ is $20. GPT writes my essays, helps me code, and offers support with my math homework[1]. So why Chegg?

[1]: In higher-level undergrad math (think stochastic processes, analysis I, etc.), it is often incorrect but it usually does enough to get me on the right track. It is awful at physics though.

I agree. I use it handily for my upper level probability class.

Why aren't they smart enough to understand that they should 1) launch a ChatGPT product trained specifically for certain subjects and 2) launch a course on how to use GPT and build stuff on top of it?

I wonder if they are now regretting the pivot from textbooks to tutoring/homework help.
