The whole earth as Relief Map

This is a great map, but was about to say that in reality the earth is, in proportion, as smooth as a billiard ball. Seems that's not quite true!

Hi, I used SRTM Data to generate global relief maps. I extracted ALL SRTM tiles at 1-arcsecond resolution. The projection is WGS84 Mercator (the same like Google Maps / Google Earth). I used Java for my own version of hillshading and terrain mapping.

Nice work! Did you have to void-fill at all or did the latest SRTM data handle that?
