To me the sign it’s dead on arrival is all it’s biggest proponents are tweeting about it.

Do you remember people talking about what’s happening on Instagram or how great it is on Facebook?

I have a Bluesky account, I’ve seen what’s going on there and it’s more like a fractal of some of the worst parts of Twitter. The types who are actually seething instead of laughing at the blue check situation.

I'm sorry but how the ef do you expect people will spread the news of Bluesky? Migrating the network takes effort and reaching out to legacy networks. This has nothing to do with how great or not great Bluesky is.

I know this is an editorial on a digital news site, but how is this publishable/newsworthy? The line between professional news site and blogpost and message board post no longer exists.

Someone at Bluesky should ask Dave Chappelle what skeeting means. I don’t think they want people skeeting on each others “skylines”.

They don't - from Wikipedia:

Posts on the platform have informally been called 'skeets' (a portmanteau of 'sky' and 'tweet'), despite Bluesky CEO Jay Graber pleading with users not to call them that.

I once skeeted on my boyfriend's bed - very smelly. Ruined my reputation.

I suppose if it's invite only you can keep the rabble and anyone with different opinions out.
