His UI work has always been of an extremely high quality. Apple like, before Apple even found it's modern identity. I think this game has been in development for a good few years (at least 4, perhaps). Glad to see it might turn out well.
Apparently, the game is also produced by Sega R&D legend Tetsuya Mizuguchi. Might have to checkout the demo.
Halflife Alyx has been the absolute pinnacle, came and went.
This looks like it could be fun.
The themes hinted at in the trailer seem like the core existential ideas/problems that humans have been engaging with across cultures and religions since time immemorial.
The idea of a gray faceless “other” is present in christianity, but is a constant across religions and cultures. It’s also at the center of politics.
I suspect that what each person sees in this game will largely depend on the cultural context from which they experience it.
I’m curious about whether the way this is presented in game will serve to provoke thoughtful reflection, or will reinforce bad ideas about the inevitability of “otherness”.
