Prevention:
Limit screen use and take breaks. Go outside.
Move the screen to an angle where you are not straining to look up and keeping your eyes open wider.
Use lubrication drops with no preservatives, especially adults.
Use the 20/20/20 rule: Every 20 minutes take 20 seconds to fully blink 20 times.
I find such rules really hard to follow. I'm too often engrossed in some issue and will forget to even drink water appropriately.
I have since moved to a low and humid city and my dry-eye went away a few weeks after moving here. I hope it never returns.
