I think the goal all along was to help out authoritarian state media. If there were ever a war, Elon's companies should be the first thing that is seized by the government.
It's not really "help". Musk is not an agent - he is a useful idiot. The goal of these "libertarians" is to subvert and sabotage democracy here at home. The way it is right now, the system is not working - they are not respected or loved enough. Therefore, the country is broken.
