I can understand makind the API paid, but why disable NSFW for said users if no malicious intent? Afraid of payment providers?

Maybe they want to stop NSFW content creators using post scheduling apps to post their content on dozens of subreddits at once.

NSFW has been a thorn in their side ever since going public, yes. Mostly because investors are morons.

They have been saying for years that they will do an IPO but, as is typical of the place, so far apart from statements nothing has ever been seen
