Ask HN: How to find local AI meetup and events?

13 points·eaglehead··8 comments

I seem to keep finding about them on twitter after they have happened. Is there a particular place that people are looking for upcoming events?

I am interested in any meetup, hackathon, conference etc for AI, Generative AI, LangChain, ML etc.

Well there used to be this thing called https://meetup.com/ ...

https://twitter.com/michelleefang for SF. Example: https://twitter.com/michelleefang/status/1646218311410282497

AI Tinkerers Discord for many locales https://discord.gg/nnFfC4Jp

I should’ve mentioned I am looking for events in Bay Area.

Happy to meet up with locals who are interested in this space.

I help run a weekly AI meetup at NoiseBridge. You can come check us out Wednesdays at 8 or join our Discord: https://discord.gg/cBpbz9VedY .

It's a mix of things at different levels. Some is high level "here's LangChain or Automatic1111", some is more in-depth paper reads. I covered BLIP2 recently, someone else did PaLM-E two weeks ago, I'm gonna touch on SAM this week.

Just follow the accounts of the tools and authors you mentioned on Twitter. LangChainAI, hwchase17, huggingface, replit, etc. It seems like there is a meetup in SF every few days lately. There was just a langchain meetup in the Presidio area and a big AI event at the Exploratorium.

Yo! Tried to reply to your post about a visa (thread locked now). I'm a Canadian, founder, been through the process multiple times, and am helping people with visas. @loganullyott on twitter, loganullyott @gml dot com

I'm in Los Angeles, if anyone else is I'd be stoked to meet! - Mike

I'm down! Moving to LA in a couple months!
