I could easily believe that <10% of drivers are so terrible, that they drag the mean so far below the median that 90% of drivers are above the mean.

Nice statistical observation but most people think better than average means better than most.

Reminds me of the old joke "Bill Gates walks into a bar. On average everyone was a millionaire."
