A 3.7% death rate for the flu seems...very high. That's saying about 1 in 25 people who catch the flu will die? That is not my lived experience.
The CDC site says .2 deaths per 100k people. I didn't see how many people per 100k catch the flu.
Is your lived experience from flu or the cold? I'm asking because a lot of people can't differentiate both and assume the common cold = influenza and conclude that everything is not as bad as medical professionals paint it.
That’s a good question. Unlike Covid, no one really took flu tests I guess. Maybe you only know if it’s the flu when it gets real bad.
