So if energy is available in large amounts (its sunny) and water is scarce.. does it make sense at some point to pump whole rivers back up into cisterns/reservoirs in the mountains or source areas for aquifiers? Just have blackpipes, that pump the water up as steam for one stage, thus desalinating it?
