In Defense of Prompt Engineering

This great summary hits on several salient points. The best prompt engineers are people who had good debugging, diagnostic, programming, and people skills before AIs were around. Knowing what to say, what not to say, what order to do it in, and what to make of the results are human skills that are needed to amplify and make real use of the AI output.

In the art realm, having an art background helps enormously! A person cannot make an AI draw something if the person cannot describe that thing accurately. Art folks know how to talk about what they want -- which is how we get video game levels and characters, sets for movies and plays, costumes, lighting, etc. in the real world, and also how we'll get them from AIs.
