I haven’t gotten access to it yet, I can tell you it’s very powerful because I’ve played around with LangChain a bit which follows the same concept of exposing an LLM (not limited to GPT/OpenAI) to external APIs to allow it to execute code (REPL) and get back a result, running mathematical operations with Wolfram Alpha, accessing up-to-date information through search engines, RSS feeds, etc. In my opinion it’s the obvious evolution for LLMs in order for them to be truly useful. As far as I’m concerned sky will be the limit with ChatGPT plugins. The biggest constraint with LangChain is context size, which will be much easier to deal with when the GPT-4 API is available to anyone.
Given the effort you put into this question, it's probably not for you.
This is the perfect response to OPs question.
Unless you've been living under a rock, I don't really understand how. ChatGPT has literally dominated tech headlines, HN posts, and Twitter chatter for at least a month now.
FWIW, a lot of the plugins are rife with malware, spyware, and other nasties - probably best to avoid them if you're not willing to pull them apart and inspect the source code.
