Is kodekloud good for devops?
What do you suggest? Is there a the odin project for devops? Free or paid doesn't really matter as I've saved few bucks. But free is better lol.
I'm heavily interested in networking, cyber security and software testing.
As a fresh out of university hire, good companies won't expect you to know everything or have a lot of depth of experience, but they'll want to see that you are eager to learn, you know how to learn, and you are humble about what you do and do not know.
Having broad exposure to tools, processes, and systems will give you a good foundation that the company can help you build on top of.
If you want to get some hands on experience with a tool like Datadog, you can check out the [Datadog Learning Center](https://learn.datadoghq.com/).
when I started in this industry in the 90s, good ops people were software devs who just liked server room stuff...they were the equal of the devs, possibly even superior since they knew what we knew, plus networking and admin
now, almost all ops people I work with are only good for the most trivial tasks - editing hcl files, rebooting servers, looking at datadog charts, pushing buttons in an aws console
I have ops people opening tickets for me to write for loops
I have ops people opening tickets for me to correct trivial syntax errors
and this is at a well-known tech company, and these are the senior/director ops people who are this incapable...the junior ones don't even know basic shell commands
its crazy how dumbed down most devops staffers have become
do not join them, this field is well on its way to being hourly wage at most companies; I expect many of these button pushers will actually end up leaving tech (how many years can you reboot servers every day until you are legitimately suicidal?)
