Microsoft’s Bing chatbot is getting ads

That was point. Everything these days seem to be money money money! One day ChatGPT won't be free to. I read an article about Microsoft's greed and impatience. It touches everything that needed to be said.

I can't help but feel uneasy about the implications for accuracy and trustworthiness. It's reminiscent of the current state of search engines, where ads often compromise the user experience. I'm curious to see how long it takes for ad-supported LLMs to become the standard, and if we'll eventually see Kagi-esque alternatives rise to offer paid, more reliable versions.

I wonder why they’re doing this so early. Seems like they’d be much better off not having ads for a while. Steal as much search traffic as they can from Google. Then add ads later.

Maybe the compute cost is just so high they need to. Or they want to get people used to ads in chat now to avoid backlash down the road. Curious
