Reddit removes support for compact mode

> One of these improvements is updating our web platform for faster performance (reducing load time by 2 seconds — more behind the scenes details soon!) and consistent web experience across devices. So whether you’re viewing reddit.com on the go via your mobile device or at home via a web browser, it’ll be the same familiar Reddit.

Such obvious doublespeak.

Compact always loaded quickly already because it wasn't loaded down with ads and shitty javascript.

They just want to serve more ads to mobile users because some have been "avoiding" it via the compact site. I wish they would at least just own that instead of making up dumb excuses like "consistent web experience".
