I think it's in really poor taste to compare regulators doing their job shutting down illegal activities and one of the most infamous pogroms, Kristallnacht.
People say "nuked" or make similar references to Hiroshima/Nagasaki, which I dislike for that same reason, but it's odd how that's generally given a pass.
Not to mention those smiling and giving thumbs up for a picture in the Colosseum.
Not to get into the unrelated weeds here, I think it's the specificity. We say "nuked" but not "Hiroshima'd."
