That's a very good point. Clojure, just like Scala, face a similar risk of being overshadowed by Java if they are constantly compared to it, especially in a way that is not useful or relevant to their own unique strengths.
I think Kotlin is somewhat affected more as it seems to have more in common with Java (syntax wise) but still that is a good point.
