Did company manipulate my Google review?

Four years ago, I left a tech company after working there for two years.

After leaving, I wrote an honest review of the company on Google.

My review received a large number of likes and was featured at the top of the company's page. And the review was there for 2 years

Recently, when I checked the company's Google page using an incognito window, I noticed that my review was no longer visible.

However, when I logged into my Google account and viewed the company's page, my review was still there and labeled as a "New Review".

The review was very clean having no offensive words, spam or voilates google review policy.

Iam now wondering whether Google manipulates reviews upon request from companies.
