1968 was the year of The Mother of All Demos, in which the "mouse', a 5-finger keyboard, a regular keyboard, and a video display with collaborative editing and video conferencing was demonstrated by Douglas Engelbart and Bill English. Engelbart's lab ended and some of its team members departed for Xerox PARC.
