The nice thing about smokeping is that a smokeping targets file and its whole configuration under /etc/smokeping/* can be very easily moved between places and set up somewhere new in less than 10 minutes. And its charting of the output of fping does a remarkably good job for such a simple tool.

For best results set your smokeping to run on 60s intervals not 300s.
