The driver of my country's middle class is IT outsourcing jobs. I can't imagine any situation where these aren't under threat currently, and don't go away completely within half a decade.
Maybe, those people you're worried about will just become more productive in the short term and actually be able to create good things in their own country as they'll be freed up to do so?
I get it, it's a new and it's unknown, and that's scary...will it all be bad? Unlikely.
I'm almost certain that many, many times in history we've been afraid of new things and change, internet, tv, planes, tractors etc. You might argue "this time it's different", well let's see?
The way industrial revolution happened did "crushed" million of people for decades for example...
Even the impact of tractors (the way we used it), which seems consensual, are much more mixed than what you say, suppressing millions of job (often without direct replacement), and leading to agricultural practices that decreased the production per hectare (!), required more chemical product with questionable impacts, soil quality decreasing...
We are not all in the same boat... the same change can crush million of people and make the life more agreeable for million of people
History is an ongoing process, we might very well deem internet and planes a net negative in the future.
By your logic everything new is "progress" and desirable, who says we won't look back at cars and other internal combustion engine vehicles as the biggest mistake ever
