@dang, it looks like all comments from an hour+ ago on this article have been deleted. They were OK comments, is there a bug?

Shame, some of the comments were quite helpful.

Looks like it was just a different link that somehow beat the other one to the front page for a while. https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=35150345

Weird, it must have split! I tried to upvote a comment on that post, and was redirected to this one (without the comment present)

How come last time there were only 38 points but 69 comments, but now there are 325 points but I’m the first to comment?

Archive shows a different comment that is no longer present: https://web.archive.org/web/20230315144657/https://news.ycom...

What does it mean, "no downloading"? How is that possible?

It looks like they've selected similar fonts that are installed on each system. E.g., for the "Transitional" font on macOS, it uses "Charter", on Linux it uses "Bitstream Charter", on Windows it uses "Sitka Text", and so on. So not every user will see the exact same font, but they'll all see fonts with similar properties.

There are only 5 different fonts total displayed on that page for my configuration:

Noto Serif

Noto Sans

Deja Vu Serif

Deja Vu Sans

Deja Vu Sans Mono
