Ask HN: What technical business accumen would you recommend?

Hi all,

I am a business student (economics/marketing) and I am curious what technical skills should one acquire particularly in marketing? I think web analytics is certainly one point, as an increasing number of decisions are data-based, but this is not taught at my school (despite all the rankings, same old, same old). I am pretty clueless about what sort of knowledge/software one needs to be familiar with to make that sort of decisions.

Any suggestions? I apologize if it sounds too vague.

P.S. I am also looking for a graduate study in Supply Chain/Operations Mgmt, would you recommend it?
