It is much easier to fall into this when working remotely, since no one is constantly watching what you do, nor can you actively see what other people are doing.
Juniors should absolutely prefer working in-person with others.
I assume the problem will be reduced if Zuck achieves his vision of office-like remote work in VR. Best of both worlds.
Then they do 10K layoffs. So I don't think it's unreasonable to question why management and leaders want everyone back in the office. The underlying incentive is something like employee loyalty, except this doesn't go both ways.
