I'm glad that someone is finally switching to a higher voltage. It's so much more efficient and will save quite a bit of weight in wire gauge. I wonder if other manufacturers will follow suite. If Ford or GM switched it would trigger an avalanche and the whole 12v "community" (suppliers, manufactures, etc.) would switch. Then everyone would benefit.
Philips should introspect within what remains in their engineering talent the kind of decision like this one it could make to renew itself and the industry. Let everyone benefit and Philips thrive.
