I have one but I never use it, I always go for the slow cooker instead. For me there’s a very limited number of things I slow cook/instant pot. For those things I always prepare hours in advance so there’s no need for a pressure cooker.

When I learned that an Instant Pot doesn't do anything particularly different or better for my requirements than my already owned slow cookers and pressure cooker, apart from built-in timer programming, I passed. The pressure cooker is completely portable to kitchen stoves, camp stoves, or open fires (on a grate) and doubles as an autoclave for extreme sanitization if ever needed.

So, HN folks who bought one during the pandemic:

Are you still using it?

I bought one when they first came out. Still regularly use it.

What’s your favorite dish/recipe?

I like it as a single appliance to replace a rice cooker, crock pot, and simplify a few things that might be made on the stove.

* hard boiled eggs

* rice

* cheesecake

* yogurt

* chicken wings/drumsticks

* steel cut oats

None of this is terribly amazing, but it is nice to just be able to get some of this stuff cooked simply.

I bought one heavily discounted, I use it on average one or twice a month as a slow cooker, and a bit more often as a rice cooker.

About 3 times a week.

Salmon, whole chickens, Chili, and stew are very regular visitors.
