If you are interested in an actual “window into the medieval mind”, I have found none better than C.S. Lewis’s little-known book “The Discarded Image”. It is well-sourced, comprehensive, crunchy, and extremely readable. https://portalconservador.com/livros/C-S-Lewis-The-Discarded...

What does crunchy mean with regard to a book?

i'm not really clear what this article is trying to say, but european cathedrals are beautiful buildings. i have no religous beliefs whatsoever, but living less than a mile from lincoln (uk) cathedral it always cheers me up to see it.

A vaguely interesting discussion on cathedrals, certainly no 'Window into the Medieval Mind'

The cathedrals are the window, bro.

Grand. Happy to learn from you then. Other than the financial cost, and the already well-known implication that mediaeval Europeans were very religious, what new information did this article give?

I can't learn from downvotes alone. Pls explain what I missed in the article because I genuinely don't know.
