>> 41. The far worse scandal was “Project Birmingham,” in which thousands of fake Russian Twitter accounts were created to follow Alabama Republican Roy Moore in his 2017 race for US Senate.

>>Newspapers reported Russia seemed to take an interest in the race, favoring Moore.

What other information was faked? All that information about being a pedophile? Was that faked?

<< 16. Their taxpayer-backed conclusions: the state should have total access to data to make searching speech easier, speech offenders should be put in a “holding area," and government should probably restrict disinformation, “even if it means losing some freedom.”

This should be chilling to anyone paying attention.

It shouldn't surprise anyone paying attention, though. It's common knowledge that FAANG complies with hundreds-of-thousands of subpeonas for personal data, these "Twitter files" are peanuts next to what Snowden revealed about Facebook 9 years ago.

But search warrants and subpoenas generally respect a due process. This reveals an elaborate government/corporate partnership to subvert due process. Not to mention free speech. The first amendment applies because you can no longer say "because its a private company".
