In the area I am in (Philadelphia), drinks with artificial/zero-calorie sweeteners are actually taxed the same way as sugar/corn syrup.

Will vary from region to region... I think GB and EU are stronger on this than in the US as an example.

Most of them have diet or zero in the name which makes it pretty easy to tell. The tricky ones contain some sugar (likely from fruit) and some artificial sweeteners,the only one I know of being the v8 sparkling energy drinks. I don't know of any soda that has partial HFCS and artificial sweetener.

Not where I live (some EU member), not so obvious. For example all Fanta has some artificial sweetener. Diet fanta has no sugar at all.
