There is no Name Brand competition in their space. You can go far more expensive for higher end other known brands, or no name tablets with garbage software and no app support.
I don't get it — aren't the no-name tablets using stock Android?
Unless one's heavily invested in Amazon's ecosystem, I wonder if that's better than using Amazon's locked down, spyware-infested Fire tablet distro.
I keep mine floating over my bed; it's great for comics and pretty good for ebooks. The best upgrade would be a screen with better blacks.

I have weird widevine issues though, Netflix only runs in sd when it should be hd. Fine for a near disposable tablet though.
Hope the new one keepa microsd, makes for a great train/plane media library.
Anyone have any thoughts on using a bigger tablet (probably mounted on some stand) compared to a phone which they'd hold in their hand?
With something like Headunit Realoaded emulator app you can run it as an Android Auto screen which gets dedicated driving interface, same as you'd get on a new Auto/CarPlay equipped car.

There's not a lot of details though. As it's from the FCC it only contains details on wireless tech. Sometimes they have board shots but apparently not here.
I wonder if it's worth it over a Samsung A8 though, those don't cost a lot more and have a higher resolution screen. And full Android.
These are my only cons for the Fire HD 10. Otherwise, it has been great.
