The did choose to build their EV fleet here. They were in talks to build an EV plant in GA before the inflation reduction act existed. Ground was broken in October and the plant is scheduled to be online in 2025. I don't disagree with the decision to require US manufacturing either but given the early state of the EV market I think easing that requirement in over a few years to give auto makers a chance to open new US manufacturing capacity would have been a better path.
I personally happen to think it's fine for a government to do this kind of thing, but let's call it like it is!
