I don't use "connected" features any more than email and like. IOT is out of question unless it can be fully operated by home assistant. I don't use "cloud backups" and instead rely on local hardware. I don't use google docs/ office online for the same reason.
Software that is used in my work, it MUST be able to be run fully offline as a primary requirement because of "uncertainty".
Of course, for India in Jammu and Kashmir, they historically only cut off prepaid cell service. If you had postpaid, you were fine. I think that may have changed with more recent shutoffs? Or maybe just the proportion of customers with postpaid has dropped; I'm not affiliated with India, just interested in global telecom because of work.
pre-paid sim cards DO NOT mean the same as in american movies where you go to a store and buy a mobile phone with preloaded, pre activated sim card for $20.
