Hey HN, I built a chrome extension to make it easier to work with Google Docs in the dark. It adds a dark mode to Google Docs, so you can work comfortably at night. It's very easy and simple to use: Just install the extension and it will work. Let me know if you have any questions or suggestions.

Any plans to make a Firefox version? There are dozens of us still using it.

yep, we are working on this. I'll post here on HN when we launch but you can subscribe to our newsletter at https://ae.studio/same-day-skunkworks

We launch a bunch of cool projects every week (:

Thank you, this is something I've wanted for a while.

I will say, however, that I don't love the default setting of black text on a light grey background. Any chance you'll add the option to customize the appearance of the page? I'd much prefer light colored text on a dark grey background.

adding some configs to set custom colors is a really good idea, thanks for the feedback!

Could you make the page itself look dark too?

It would be great if the default black text on a white background displayed to me as light text on a dark background.

I use DarkReader which works fine for me on Docs, as well as other sites.

Seconded. Dark Reader is fantastic. I've been a longtime user of it & would definitely recommend it for anyone on Brave, Firefox, & Chrome.

This is useful to me as I live in Google Docs.

Thanks.

your eyes thank ;)
