To be fair, it is one of the very few cases where US intervention is welcomed by the local population and not an accelerated freedom™ program.. And I hate imperialism as much as the next non-american guy.

I assume you are referring to the Chinese military there? They certainly have been stirring up trouble lately.

They can't. I think that the US thinks that no one will use atomic bombs if they engage in a conventional war overseas.
